This museum celebrates the history of the Elgin Settlement. Established in 1849 as a haven for Blacks escaping slavery the museum was built in 1967 by the inhabitants of North Buxton, Ontario, Canada, many of whom are descendants of the original refugees

There are a wealth of African American quilters, artists, and doll-makers. One of the most creative is Kyra Hicks. This portion of the Electronic Village is dedicated to these under-appreciated brothers and sisters!
